This tutorial is already one of my favorites.
I’ve been obsessed with cel-animated effects ever since I had the pleasure of meeting / hanging with Ryan Woodward during a Ringling event.
The problem is, I can’t draw 1/100th as well as Ryan. So I figured out how to fake it
In this video I will walk you through my project file where I did a TON of experimenting to get this to look right. Even better? I’m giving you all my project file fo’ free. All you have to do is scroll down this page, log in, and download it! It’s that easy.
This project took a lot of old-school animating principles to nail the “feel” of the explosion, but it also took a lot of the tricks / hacks I’ve been showing you guys now for 22 days! I hope you learn a ton.
Questions / Comments are welcome as always.
Thank you guys, make sure to check out the rest of the 30 Days of After Effects tutorials.Sponsored by
