‘Tis the season to be inspired with Motion Graphic projects.
As we ramp up for the holidays we thought it’d be fun to take a look at one of our favorite Motion Graphic traditions, animated Holiday Cards. Every year Motion Designers from around the world show off their skills by creating Holiday projects to send to clients, friends, and families.
If you’re a Motion Designer you might want to try creating your own digital card this year, and if you’re looking for a little inspiration we’ve put together a collection of some of our favs. So grab some egg nog and a start a fire (in the fireplace please), it’s MoGraph inspiration time.
HBO HOLIDAY CARD
Created By: Shilo
It’s insane to think that this was created just to share Holiday cheer. This 3D masterpiece created by Shilo takes you through a world made of paper. To top it off the entire thing is one long shot. How did they do this?!
MORRISON FERSTER
Created By: ccccccc
This project created by ccccccc (that’s their real name) was designed to give viewers a sense of wonder and child-like amazement. The beautiful textures and color palette make the project soft and approachable.
SCHOOL OF MOTION HOLIDAY CARD 2016
Created By: School of Motion Alumni
For the last two years alumni at School of Motion have put together a Holiday card featuring a ton of different MoGraph styles. We love seeing the community come together in this way. Hopefully the tradition continues for many more years to come.
YULE LOG 2.0
Created By: Various Professional Motion Designers
No holiday inspiration roundup would be complete without the beloved Yule Log loops from Daniel Savage. The project challenges Pro Motion Designers from around the world to show off their skills by creating looping fire animations. From wacky to downright insane, this is the perfect background loop for your Holiday season. Our favorite one is definitely at the 29:11 mark...
Whelp that’s all for now. We have a one horse open sleigh to catch. Best of luck this Holiday season!
