Sander is an animator who loves propelling the Motion Design industry forward by cultivating the MoGraph community and building tools for After Effects, including Ray Dynamic Color and Texture. He’s also one of the co-founders of the überpopular conference, Blend. He is widely recognized as one of the top After Effects artists in the world. In this second Focus Week we’ll give you actionable tips to help you overcome your fear of failure while you focus on getting your exercises completed.
Let’s take what you’ve learned and put it to the test with a full set of boards that will challenge you to use every animation skill you possess. This final project is no joke.
The final 2 weeks of class are Extended Critique. You can use this time to catch up, complete your final project, then turn it in for critique.

While you will not be working in Photoshop and Illustrator during this course, you should have access to both of these programs. We recommend that you have this software to give you the ability to open up and explore the artwork that will be provided with your lessons and exercises.

lsIf you've been working at a studio for a few years, but you're realizing you need more polish before you can start leading a team, Advanced Motion Methods can help. It's time to help your studio by getting out of your comfort zone and digging deeper than ever before.
With this being our most advanced AE course, you can expect to commit 20+ hours per week on coursework. The video lessons are 1-2 hours in length. There are 8 Assignments total. Typically assigned on Mondays and Thursdays with soft deadlines the next day. We have designated weeks built into the schedule that have no lessons or assignments so that students can keep with the pace of the course.

9 Weeks of Advanced Motion Methods
You should have a few years of experience in the Motion Design industry working on client projects in After Effects, including creating boards and then animating them. To get the most out of this course you will want to know how to easily navigate the After Effects interface, what different layer types are and how they function, be proficient in the graph editor, and understand the basics of expressions. You will also need an advanced understanding of the principles of animation and design. Unless you are a very experienced motion designer, we strongly recommend taking Animation Bootcamp and Design Bootcamp before taking this course. Taking Expression Session before this course can be beneficial, but is not required.

Students typically receive homework assignments twice per week, which have soft deadlines.
